Thrivent Financial members, through the Thrivent Choice® program, can designate Choice Dollars be directed to Zion Lutheran Church. Members become eligible for Thrivent Choice based on insurance premiums, contract values and Thrivent volunteer leadership. Members have until March 31 of every year to designate these funds. MEMORIAL GIFTS

Give a Gift in Memory or Honor of Someone.    

​

A financial gift given in memory of someone is a very thoughtful way to express sympathy for the loss of a special person. You can make a Memorial Donation in honor of a family member, friend, neighbor or co-worker. We will send a note to the family and to you acknowledging your gift.

 

You can also give a gift in honor of someone to celebrate a special occasion (i.e., birthday, anniversary, baptism, graduation, etc.) or just to honor their lives.  A note will be sent to the honoree and to you acknowledging your gift.

Memorial or Honorarium Gifts may be either designated or undesignated:

• Gifts that are designated for a specific purpose, i.e., to purchase an item(s) from our approved “Gifts and Memorial List” (see below), are designated gifts.  If you wish to purchase an item that is not on the list, you may submit a proposal to church council for approval.  We encourage you to consult with the pastor if you are considering a designated gift.  

 

• Undesignated gifts are placed in the Memorial Fund and used by the church council to purchase special items.  Please consider allocating at least a portion of any gift to this category.

LEGACY GIFTS

Plan Today to Leave a Legacy for Tomorrow.  

 

Has the ministry of Zion Lutheran Church blessed you and your family over the years?  Why not plan a gift that will continue     your support for Zion beyond your lifetime?  Here are some ways you can leave a legacy gift for Zion Lutheran Church:

 

1. Leave a bequest for Zion Lutheran Church in your will.  You can leave a percentage of your estate (e.g. a 10% tithe)

or a dollar amount or the residue of your estate (whatever remains after your estate is settled) for Zion Lutheran Church.

 

Here is the recommended language to include in your will:

 

Percentage

"I give, devise, and bequeath to ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH 2966 Old Bethlehem Pike, Zion Hill PA 19891, ___ percent of my total estate, for the benefit of its general purposes."

 

Dollar Amount

Residue

"All the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate, both real and personal, I give to ZION LUTHERAN CHURCH 2966 Old Bethlehem Pike, Zion Hill PA 19891, for its general purposes."

 

 

• Include Zion Lutheran Church as a beneficiary on your retirement account, IRA, mutual funds account, brokerage account, savings, money market or certificate of deposit (CD) account.  Here is the information you will need:
